Facebook has once again created quite a buzz across various blogsites this week.  James Dellow on Chieftech comments on one global 800 company who has decided to replace it’s intranet with the popular social networking site.  Dellow is wary of this move as he believes it will place strain on the organisation’s professional and personal relationships.  Furthermore, Dellow postulates that the impact of this decision will mean employees will either have to “maintain multiple personalities in order to separate their personal and professional lives or working people will stop using Facebook for personal social networking.”

Stephen Fenech’s Connect examines the differences between Generation X, Generation Y and the very latest age band, Generation Z.  Fenech indicates this new generation is composed of children born after 2001 and who from infancy have grown up with the very latest advances of digital devices.  Fenech notes that this generation has already impacted technology companies who have “already begun marketing to this generation’s highly-developed senses that classify gadgets and computers to be as natural as the grass, the sky and trees”.  To read the full article, click here.

As we wrap up the year, Sheryl Moon on Talking Technology comments on a Yahoo7! Pulse survey which lists the most popular web search terms in Australia in 2007.  The top technology search terms are Apple’s iPod Nano, the Nintendo Wii, Sony’s PS3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360.
